This specific name has never been used for this species nor listed as an Australian insect since Kirby (1892) listed it under Colussa Walker, 1860, a junior subjective synonym of Anthela Walker, 1855. Boisduval's comparison with the European Trichiura crataegi (Linnaeus, 1758) in size and reference to ferruginous bands in the disc on the underside identify it as this species)
