   Syntype(s) MNHP 1-6-194 1 damaged sepion extant (77 mm SL (incomplete)), Kangaroo Is., SA [35°50'S 138°03'E].
• Mesembrisepia macandrewi Iredale, T. 1926. The cuttlefish 'bones' of the Sydney beaches (Phylum Mollusca–Class Cephalopoda). The Australian Zoologist 4: 186-196 pls 22, 23 [191].
