Introduction

Schizopyrenids are heteroloboseans without fruiting bodies. Amoeboid form not compressed or flattened but cylindrical (limax) in shape, with eruptive pseudopodia. The group contains facultative pathogens and several species have been associated with diseases in animals (including humans).
