  • Plococidaris verticillata (Lamarck, 1816) [While Mortensen and others have advocated using Plococidaris for this species, the designated type species for Plococidaris was P. bispinosa which is now accepted in Prionocidaris. Consequently a new generic name is required].

Ashmore Reef WA to Low Is., Qld; Indo-west-central Pacific Ocean. Depth range 0-54 m, Miocene deposits from Madagascar and India, and Pleistocene deposits from East Africa
