Status unknown, Keppel Bay, QLD, Australia, originally Indian Ocean (Oceano Indico). - Pinna incurvata Sowerby, G.B. (1st) 1825. A catalogue of the shells contained in the collection of the late Earl of Tankerville : arranged according to the Lamarckian conchological system: together with an appendix, containing descriptions of many new species. London : printed by E.J. Stirling for G.B. Sowerby vii, 92 pp. + appendix of xxiv pp. + coloured plates. [23] [junior homonym; not Pinna incurvata Born, 1778].

[pl. 5, fig. 8] [junior homonym; not Pinna incurvata Born, 1778; this name is considered to be a synonym of Pinna incurva by Huber (2010) to have been misapplied to an undescribed Indo-Pacific species, also found in north-eastern Australian waters].

Introduction
Huber (2010) does not recongise Pinna incurva from Australia, but treats the Australian form as represented by Pinna incurvata Reeve, 1858 as an undescribed species.
