Extra Distribution Information

Very widely distributed, found in all sectors of the Atlantic, Arctic and Antarctic Oceans, as well as the northern, south-eastern and south-western Pacific Ocean. Unknown from the Indian Ocean and Mediterranean Sea; Australian distribution — only from Aldinga Bay, Gulf St Vincent, SA.

Extra Ecological Information

Found worldwide from 1-5300 m depth, but mostly from depths less than 300 m. In Australia found in sand amongst roots of the seagrass Amphibolis antarctica..
