Family NOTOBRANCHAEIDAE Pelseneer, 1886
Introduction
This gymnosome family is represented by a single genus, Notobranchaea, with eight species, two of which have been recorded in Australia. The distribution of the genus in unclear, as representative specimens are always rare. Virtually nothing is known of their ecology, behaviour and life history. Compiled from Beesley et al. (1998).
