Comment: Herrich-Schäffer in the original description did not indicate the number of specimens described, but gave two localities; originally described from the Museum Godeffroy; Waterhouse, G.A. 1936. [unpublished personal manuscript of observations made at the BMNH (Lycaenidae)]. Photocopy located at ANIC, Canberra, ACT. 92 pp. [70] (listed specimens in the BMNH which had been in the Museum Godeffroy but none were marked as types). - Lycaena phoebe Murray, R.P. 1873. Comment: Murray in the original description mentioned several localities and both sexes but no type, he mentioned specimens in the BMNH but these may have come from localities other than those Murray listed which may only have been the localities for his own specimens. - Cupido delicata Tepper, J.G.O. 1882.
