Family LEPTOCYTHERIDAE Hanai, 1957

Diagnosis

Slender, more or less strongly calcified carapace with smooth or high ornamented surface. Fused zone broad running irregularly and with deep, large lumic branched pore canals. Inner margin and line of concrescence coincide or separate. Normal pores of sieve type. Hinge merodont or entomodont. Antennula 5-segmented. Antenna with 2 terminal claws. Respiratory plate on mandibula with main and secondary ray. Palp short. All thoracopods of walking type. Distal part of hemipenis with 2 lobes.
