Family IMMIDAE

Introduction

[After Common 1996: 150]
The family was established by Heppner (1977) for Imma Walker and a few related genera which had previously been placed in the Glyphipterigdae and the Choreutidae. Common (1979) established the superfamily Immoidea.

The world fauna was revised by Meyrick (1906), listed in Lepidopterorum Catalogus by Meyrick (1913) and reviewed in Genera Insectorum by Meyrick (1914). Heppner (1982) reviewed the world fauna and provided a checklist. Australian species were described by Turner (1913a) and in scattered publications by Meyrick, Lower and Turner. The biology of Imma acosma (Turner) was described by Common (1979).
