Infraclass EUHIRUDINEA Lukin, 1956
Introduction
This group of annelids has a reduced number of body segments with two preoral segments and 32 postoral segments. All species have both an anterior and posterior sucker with the mouth found within the anterior sucker. Members of this group lack chaetae and have a reduced coelom lacking septa, except in a few glossiphoniids.
Diagnosis
Thirty-two postoral body segments, anterior and posterior suckers with the mouth located within the anterior sucker. Reduced coelom without septa, except in a few glossiphoniids.
