  Type data:

   Holotype HLMD ♂ (Endersby (2009) argues that 'Kaup's handwritten label 'Diplax thoracantha Br. Ceram' on a male specimen in HLMD is consistent with its status as the holotype' — contrary to Houston & Watson (1988) who noted that syntypes had not been traced), Morotai & Halmahera Ils (as Nord-Halmaheira).
