Diagnosis
Dasineura is a large, cosmopolitan genus containing species of the supertribe Lasiopteridi with toothed tarsal claws, R5 wing vein that meets C anteriorly to the wing apex, and female tergite 8 divided into two longitudinal sclerites. Most species are gall inducers, some live inside flowers without causing tissue deformities and several are inquilines inside galls induced by other gall midges.
