Larva: aquatic.

Extra Ecological Information

Adult taken in light and chicken-baited traps;, does not bite humans but feeds on fowl, dogs and mammals; isolation of Kunjin, Eubenangee, Alfuy and Sindbis viruses from collections; larva found in log holes, transient pools, ruts, stream backwaters, shallow swamps, cisterns, putrid water in septic tanks, stagnant gutters, ground pools, tree holes, leaves on Waghena, a sago palm stump, riverside pools, small creeks, artificial containers, shaded and sunlit collections of ground water except permanent ponds and brackish water.
