Family CERAPHRONIDAE

Compiler and date details

25 January 2009 - Norman F. Johnson, L. Musetti and John T. Jennings

Introduction

This is a relatively small family of tiny endoparasitic wasps (0.5-2 mm) which are parasitic or hyperparasitic on various dipteran, hemipteran and neuropteran primary hosts. The family is easily identified by having a curved stigmal vein and lacking a pterostigma in the forewing.

Jennings & Austin (2015) list 7 unidentified species from Lord Howe Island in the Australian Museum.
