Introduction

Roig Alsina (1984 and 1989) restricted the genus Chirodamus to a few South American species, placing the rest of the American species previously included in the genus into other genera, including Calopompilus Ashmead, 1900. Consequently, the species listed by Williams and Adam (1995) as Chirodamus are hereby retained in Calopompilus until their exact placement can be determined.
