Scott (1864: 4) first published this name as a junior synonym of Zeuzera Latreille , 1804. Premnopsyche is unavailable and without a type species and is here listed as an unavailable synonym of Endoxyla as Scott's unpublished plate shows he clearly intended the name for the type species of Endoxyla , Endoxyla encalypti Herrich-Schäffer, [1854). Fletcher and Nye (1982) listed Premnopsyche as a synonym of Zeuzera. Note #177: Cossimorphus Houlbert, 1916. This genus-group name was first established as a subgenus of Xyleates Hübner, [1820] with the type species Cossus edwardsorum Tepper, 1891 (as edwardsi Tepper). According to Gaede (1933b) Houlbert misidentified edwardsorum (as edwardsi) and he named edwardsorum sensu Houlbert, 1916 Xyleutes grisea Gaede, 1933. This is a case of misidentified type species which under the Code, Art. 70(a), should be referred to the Commission)
