Family BOLTTSIIDAE Barnard & Karaman, 1987
Introduction
The Bolttsiidae is a monotypic family until recently known only from freshwater coastal lakes in eastern South Africa and south-eastern Mozambique (Griffiths, 1976). Azman & Lowry (2009) reported the first Australian bolttsiid from among mangrove roots in an estuarine stream on Lizard Island, Great Barrier Reef. Bolttsiids appear to be post-gondwanan relicts most closely related to the Amphilochidae.
