Introduction

The family Agriolimacidae was reinstated (Likharev & Wiktor, 1979, 1980) after having long been grouped with the Limacidae. Agriolimacids are small to medium-sized aulacopod slugs, herbivorous or facultatively carnivorous, with a rudimentary internal shell always present. They originally had an Holarctic distribution, but are now established worldwide through introductions. At least two species have been introduced to Australia. They are found in gardens, parks, pastures, on arable land, stream banks and roadsides and in greatly disturbed areas of native forest. They differ from Limacidae mainly in details of genital anatomy.
