Introduction

Acrasid mycetozoans (slime moulds), form microcysts in unfavourable conditions: trophic stage, consisting of limax-type amoebae, migrate singly or in groups to form sorocarps (do not exhibit streaming like dictyostelids); sorocarps differentiate into stalk cells and spores.
