Genus Pedibothrium Linton, 1909

 

Introduction

Jensen & Bullard (2010) proposed a classification scheme of 15 metacestode types/forms, of which eight were genetically matched to known genera. The form then identified as 'Larval Type V (5)' could not be assigned to a genus. Cutmore et al. (2024) expanded upon the work of Jensen & Bullard (2010) and was able to match metacestodes collected from teleost fishes from Moreton Bay, Queensland, Australia, to species of the genus Pedibothrium. These teleost hosts are listed below.
