Ecological Descriptors

Adult: volant.

Larva: aquatic.

Extra Ecological Information

Adult does not bite humans but evidently feeds on frogs and birds; adults collected in dry-ice baited and light traps in forest areas; larva found in semi-permanent, vegetated ground pools associated with margins of tea-tree swamps, freshwater sedge, marshes, ponds or creeklines and a weedy seepage pool on bank of a creek.
