Adult female day-biting and readily attacks humans, rabbits and poultry close to larval habitats; nuisance pest close to habitats; larva found in rainwater-filled ground pools with or without vegetation, in sparse bushland, pits of uprooted trees in heavily timbered woodlands, tea-tree and grassy swamps and temporary surface waters.
