Genus Stryphnus Sollas, 1886

Diagnosis

Ancorinidae with large oxeas as the somal megascleres, densely packed in the choanosome, and tangential, oblique or pependicular to the surface at the peripheral zone. The ectosomal megascleres include ortho-, plagio- or dichotriaenes. The microscleres are a euaster and an irregular amphiaster or sanidaster. The cortex is collenchymatous.
