Adult: mellivore, volant.

Extra Ecological Information

Nest in disused beetle burrows, in dead, dry, hollowed-out woody twigs (Acacia Miller [Mimosaceae], Alectryon Gaertner (as Halyctryon) [Sapindaceae], Heterodendrum Desf. [Sapindaceae]), eusocial, small colonies with queen and worker castes, all immature stages found in the communal chamber, larvae fed progressively, flower visiting record: Amyema Tieghem [Loranthaceae], Eremophila R.Br. [Myoporaceae], Eucalyptus L'Hérit. [Myrtaceae], Loranthus Jacq. [Loranthaceae], Melaleuca L. [Myrtaceae], Myoporum G.Forster [Myoporaceae].
