Introduction

Pseudechotrida is distinguished from Echotrida by having sculpture of both spiral grooves and branched spiral striae above, a protoconch devoid of spiral sculpture and a much wider U-shaped umbilicus. Compared with Montidelos the coiling is looser and the umbilicus wider.

Diagnosis

Shell small to medium in size, subdiscoidal with flat to low-domed spire; protoconch shiny with weak radial ridges, teleoconch sculpture of strong continuous incised spiral grooves and branched spiral striae on the upper surface, spiral grooves to smooth below; umbilicus wide U-shaped to very wide cup-shaped. Colour yellow.
