Sri Lanka, India and Nepal to Taiwan, the Philippines and Japan, China, south-east Asia, Indonesian archipelago, New Guinea, Solomon Is.; in Australia the genus occurs in Queensland, the Northern Territory and northernmost coastal New South Wales.
