Ecological Descriptors

Adult: volant.

Larva: aquatic, tree hole.

Extra Ecological Information

Adult a diurnal biter and attacks humans in open rainforest; type specimens reared from pupae taken from a cavity in a tree; immature stages found in cavity in trunk of living tree, rot hole in post, hollow bloodwood stump, hollow stump of Angophora [Myrtaceae] in eucalypt forest, tree hole in a box-tree and a log groove.
