Family PLATYAMERIDAE Balogh & Balogh, 1983

Introduction

In the taxonomic concept of Schatz et al. (2011), the Platyameridae is an endemic Australian family that includes one genus and one species. Subias (2011) used a broader concept of the family, to include the Holarctic genus Gymnodampia, which Norton & Behan-Pelletier (2009) placed in the Ameridae. The single Australian species has been collected in rainforest litter in Queensland and New South Wales (reviewed by Colloff & Halliday 1998).
