Adult: volant.

Larva: aquatic.

Extra Ecological Information

Adult collected in chicken-baited, malaise and light traps and is a common, vicious daytime biter that attacks humans; larva and immature stages found in temporary ground pools with or without grass, pools in or near sago swamps, marshes, grass-covered plantation drains, taro irrigation channels, taro swamp gardens, puddles, creek pot holes, rock holes, muddy ditches, road ruts, pools at border of jungle, swampy areas and artificial containers.
