Introduction
[After Edwards in Nielsen et al. (1996: 90)].
Many Australian Batrachedridae were described by Meyrick (1897a) and a few by Turner (1923b). The genus [Batrachedra] has been placed in a variety of families (Cosmopterigidae, Momphidae, Coleophoridae) by different authors and there is still no general agreement on its position. The North American fauna was reviewed by Hodges (1966). The Australian members of the family have never been revised but Common (1990) provided a useful guide to them.
Baldizzone (1996) transfer the genus Corythangela from the family Coleophoridae to the Batrachedridae.
