Ecological Descriptors

Adult: pest, volant.

Larva: aquatic.

Extra Ecological Information

Adult common in/near bushland and attacks humans, sheep, dogs, marsupials, rabbits and poultry; occasionally a pest in bushland; considered a vector of myxomatosis in certain areas; larva found in swamps, ground pools, creekline rock pools, ponds, dams, log holes and artificial containers.
