Comment: the only type material that included mature specimens was deposited in the Zoological Museum in Hamburg but was destroyed during World War II; all syntype material is immature and may represent more than one species (see Erséus, C. 1998. Re-examination of syntypes of the Western Australian oligochaete Clitellio abjornsoni MIchaelsen, 1907 (Tubificidae) in the Museum of Natural History, Berlin. Mitteilungen aus dem Zoologischen Museum in Berlin 74: 145–146); Michaelsen, W. 1907. Oligochaeta. In, Michaelsen, W. & Hartmeyer, R. (eds). Die Fauna Südwest-Australiens. Ergebnisse der hamburger südwest-australischen Forschungsreise 1905. Jena : Verlag von Gustav Fischer Vol. 1(2) . indicates that some of the type material came from the Swan River and Rottnest Island but this is not indicated on extant labels.Type locality references:

The distribution of this species is uncertain, Michaelsen, W. 1907. Oligochaeta. In, Michaelsen, W. & Hartmeyer, R. (eds). Die Fauna Südwest-Australiens. Ergebnisse der hamburger südwest-australischen Forschungsreise 1905. Jena : Verlag von Gustav Fischer Vol. 1(2) . lists localities at Rottnest Island, Swan River (Lower W coast) and Princess Royal Harbour, Albany (SW coast) but extant labels all have the latter. The only type specimens to be mature were destroyed during WWII and remaining syntypes may represent more than one species Erséus, C. 1998.
