Ecological Descriptors

Adult: predator, terrestrial.

 

Diagnosis

Length 1.6-1.8 mm. Body with short setae appressed, with long suberect setae scattered over body. Head and pronotum coarsely granulate, both elongate. Head deeply and broadly transversely impressed between eyes; frontal rostrum prominent, only slightly depressed between antennal tubercles. Pronotum with median longitudinal impression on disc shallow; antebasal sulcus vague and interrupted by indistinct longitudinal ridges near lateral antebasal foveae. Abdomen with discal carinae of visible tergite 1 (IV) extending to middle, separated at base by one-third tergite width, impression between carinae setose primarily around the mediobasal foveae. Male eyes with about 50 facets; protibiae and mesotibiae lacking preapical spurs. Visible sternite 3 (V) with narrow glabrous basolateral excavations beneath apex of 2 (IV), 2 (IV) with small tufts of long setae at apical margin obscuring excavations. Female eyes with about 25 facets.
