Introduction

Charopinesta is readily distinguished by the combination of subdiscoidal shell with deep, almost channelled sutures. The genus was originally placed in the Charopidae by Iredale (1944).

Diagnosis

Shell very small to minute, subdiscoidal with flattened to very low spire; sutures deep; protoconch with crowded spiral lirae, teleoconch with irregular, rather crowded growth lines with crowded finer spiral lirae; umbilicus moderately narrow to wide; colour dark resinous brown.
