Introduction

Austrorhytida glaciamans is a smaller species than A. capillacea. The animal is blue-grey above with orange-cream sides. Smith (1987) considered this to be a synonym of A. capillacea a decision overturned by Stanisic et al. (2010).

Ecological Descriptors

Subalpine, tall forest, under logs, under rocks, woodland.

 

Diagnosis

Shell medium-sized, yellowish-amber, subdiscoidal with flattened spire; protoconch with vague radial ribs and microspiral striae, teleoconch sculpture of strong regular radial ribs above; umbilicus moderately wide, U-shaped; diameter 13mm.
