Species Gelastopsis modestus (Jacobi, 1928)

Compiler and date details

25 November 2010 - Murray J. Fletcher

Introduction

This species is recorded from arid to semi-arid areas of Western Australia across to the southern part of the Northern Territory. Constant (2005) notes that the species has been collected on Acacia bivenosa DC (Fabaceae) and the distribution of this species of wattle is very similar to the known distribution of G. modestus, implying that the two species are associated. Jacobi (1928) noted that he based the species on a single male but Constant (2005) states that the holotype is a female.
