However, Labillardiere clearly refers to Forster, so this represents a secondary usage of Forster's name rather than the publication of an illegitimate superfluous name. In this case Labillardiere misapplied Forster's name for a New Zealand taxon to an undescribed Australian species, necessitating Brown's publication of the name <i>Agrostis billardierei</i> for the Australian material.
