Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.

APC Comment:Varietal rank not recognised in Qld. J.Britten, Ill. Austral. Pl. Cook's Voy. 2: 75 (1901) places Clerodendrum floribundum R.Br. in synonymy of his taxon Siphonanthus floribundus, but the specimen cited by Britten represents C. longiflorum var. glabrum. A.A.Munir, J. Adel. Bot. Gard. 11: 120 (1989) explicitly excludes this synonym from C. floribundum.
Type:"(designated by Munir 1989): Brown s.n. [Iter Austral. 2314] (lecto BM; isolecto BM, K 2 sheets),. 'Littora Novae Hollandiae intra tropica, one of Harvey's islands'."
