The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.

Text: "Both feminine and masculine gender are used for Euonymus up to the present time. This dual usage is certainly unwanted, and a ruling desirable. Accepting the present proposal will support the widespread, classically correct usage of feminine. Rejecting it will support the original masculine usage of Linnaeus, but may result in continued use of feminine by a good number of modern authors."

Text: "(1351) To amend conservation of Euonymus L. to make it feminine (Celastraceae). Proposed by J. Paclt in Taxon 47: 473–474 (1998). Votes: 3 : 9 (not recommended)."
