Etymology: "This taxon was first brought to public attention by Salkin et al. (1995) [i.e. in Austral. Brachyscomes 246 ] who referred to it as Brachyscome sp. (Darling Downs), and I continue the association with its locality by naming it subsp. darlingensis."
