The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. APC Comment:Included in the synonymy of C. angulata by de Laubenfels & Adema (1998). Cycas brunnea was recognised as a distinct species in Flora of Australia, but NT occurences are now referred to C. angulata. It is maintained as separate in Qld.
