  • Comment: Mueller lists "Atriplex holocarpum = A. spongiosum". Atriplex holocarpa F.Muell. (as holocarpum) and Atriplex spongiosa F.Muell. (as spongiosum) were both previously accepted by Mueller on page 30 of the Systematic Census (1882) but A. spongiosa was the only one treated in Mueller's Second Systematic Census on p. 50 (1889). Therefore Atriplex spongiosa is here treated as being the accepted name in this Supplement with Atriplex holocarpa in synonymy.
