Vascular Plants
Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.
Etymology:"Only one new species has as yet been discovered by me, viz., a small Orchid, in respect of which Baron F. v. Mueller, has done me the honour of naming it Prasophyllum Tepperi."
Comment:Tepper ascribes the name to F.Muell on. p. 43 as "Prasophyllum Tepperi, F. M. (spec. nov.)." but on pp. 32-33 the brief validating description is apparently written by Tepper himself. Authorship of this name is thus here accepted as F.Muell. ex Tepper under ICN Art. 46.2 (Melbourne Code, 2012).
