  • Etymology: "the epithet isolata (Latinised version of the English isolated) refers to the fact that the Kangaroo Island populations is at least 500 kilometres from the nearest known populations (Eastern Victoria and Tasmania; the latter across the Southern Ocean from the eastern end of Kangaroo Island)."
