  • Etymology: "This species acknowledges the extensive contribution that the botanist John Beaumont Williams (1932–2005; Bruhl 2005) has made to our understanding of the plants of the New England area of NSW and who also recognised this species as a possible new species, distinct from P. lasianthos."
