  • Etymology: "The epithet is from the Greek word eriodes, meaning 'like wool, woolly' (Brown 1956 [i.e. R.W.Brown Composition of Scientific Words Revised ed. (1956)]). It refers to the woolly tomentum of the leaves and stems in this species."
