  • APC Comment: The name Poa australis R.Br. is based on Arundo poiformis Labill., however, Brown's description and the specimen cited represent Poa sieberiana Spreng.

  • APC Comment: The name Poa australis R.Br. is based on Arundo poiformis Labill., however, Brown's description and the specimen cited represent Poa sieberiana Spreng. The name Poa australis R.Br. var. australis is listed by A.D.Chapman, Austral. Pl. Name Index 2330 (1991), but this autonym does not exist, in accordance with ICBN Art. 27.2 (Vienna Code) (2006). A.D.Chapman, Austral. Pl. Name Index (1991) also stated that Poiret did not validly make the combinations Arundo laevis and A. plebia (both p. 206). However, under Article 33.1 of the 2006 (Vienna) edition of the ICBN, these names are considered to be validly published.
