  • Etymology: "Named for the former Karara Station in the Shire of Perenjori, where the type was collected. The name is of Aboriginal origin, perhaps referring to Acacia bushland (Acacia tetragonophylla is common in this region and has the common name, kurara ... Acacia tetragonophylla). The species epithet is a noun in apposition."
