Subspecies Stenella longirostris roseiventris (Wagner, 1846)

Dwarf Spinner Dolphin

 

Introduction

Previously, it was thought that the nominate subspecies occurs in Australian waters, however, on the basis of molecular evidence it appears that the Australian form is S. longirostris roseiventris (see Perrin et al. 2007).
